How long is the pause between IELTS Listening sections?
Thirty seconds of check time after each of the first three parts, then the next part's introduction and the time to look at its questions.
Thirty seconds of check time after each of the first three parts, then the next part's introduction and the time to look at its questions.
Those thirty seconds are for checking what is already written. The longer look at the new questions comes with the introduction, which is why the routine here starts before that introduction ends.
There is no clock and no bell, so the boundary is easy to sleep through. Two habits make it visible: keep the pencil moving the moment check time starts, and read the next part's first question word before the introduction ends. If you are still writing an answer when the next part begins, abandon it rather than split your attention, because one item is worth one mark either way.
