How can I improve my IELTS Speaking Part 3 answers?
Improve them in this order: structure, then range, then speed. For two weeks, answer every question in the three-move shape, taking a position first, adding one reason with one detail, closing with a contrast, and record each attempt.
Improve them in this order: structure, then range, then speed. For two weeks, answer every question in the three-move shape, taking a position first, adding one reason with one detail, closing with a contrast, and record each attempt. Review one habit per week: unfinished sentences, then filler words, then a tense you keep avoiding. Because the questions are abstract, prepare thinking frames rather than memorised answers: cause and effect, comparison between groups, long-term consequence. Finally, practise with someone who asks follow-up questions, since Part 3 rewards the later sentences.
One timing tip that the section above does not cover: aim for four to six sentences per question, and treat the fourth sentence as the one that carries your range of grammar. Most candidates use their strongest language in the second sentence and then stop, which caps the impression they leave. If time remains, add a short consequence instead of another example, because a consequence forces a different tense and a different connector. When you review a recording, mark the sentence where your language suddenly became simple and ask what you were trying to say at that moment.
