How should I practise TOEIC Listening Part 3 at home?

Nov 2, 2026
Short answer

Take one set rather than a whole section, read the three stems first, write the speaker log before checking answers, and mark each item with the line that settles it.

Twenty minutes at a time is enough if each session ends with a written log. Collect four recordings that come with transcripts, cut each one into single conversations instead of whole sections, and during playback put the speaker's initial on paper at every turn change. Afterwards mark only three things: the turn where you lost the thread, the stem you read first, and whether the failed item was a detail, an intent line or a graphic. Then open the transcript and copy every phrase you misheard into a running list. Re-run the same conversation a week later without the transcript; if the log shows the same turn breaking twice, slow that clip down rather than moving to new material.
