Why does my pronunciation app accept a word that a person mishears?
The app's response and the person's response are different observations. Replay the passage and ask the person what they heard and where clarification was needed. Check the wording and context before drawing a conclusion. Acceptance by a tool is not a guarantee that every listener will understand the word in every sentence.

A speech-to-text result shows what that system produced from the input. It does not directly test what a particular person understood, and a mismatch does not identify a single pronunciation cause. Replay the passage, check the intended wording, and inspect the recording before deciding what needs attention. An accurate transcript also cannot describe every aspect of delivery.
