早上五点五十分，接班的团队已经站在机器旁，而你知道的托盘数量、故障和松动的防护罩，必须在两分钟内离开你的脑子。大多数倒班工人在这里出错，并不是因为英语差。他们出错，是因为每天晚上讲这件事的顺序都不一样。
这份指南回答一个问题：当工作本身就是交接班时，如何快速学习职场英语，靠固定的五行顺序、四段话术、复述确认，以及每周十五分钟的演练。
每次交接班都必须包含什么
英国健康与安全执行局把有效交接班描述为三件事：交班者做好准备，进行一次交换任务相关信息的对话，以及接班者在承担责任前进行交叉核对。第三部分正是人们疲惫时会跳过的那一环。
五项内容几乎覆盖所有交接班，无论是在工厂、仓库、厨房还是护理院：

如果你只能说五项中的一项，就说风险。漏掉托盘数量会损失一小时。漏掉防护罩警告可能损失一只手。
用英语说的五行交接班
先学这五个开头。它们会在细节到来之前告诉听者接下来是什么。
The state: line three is running. Line four is stopped.The fault: the belt motor is hot. Ticket 4412.Unfinished: two pallets for order 881 are on the dock.The risk: the guard is loose. Nobody starts the line.Next: the supervisor calls maintenance at 07:00.
自由讲述每天晚上都会改变顺序，所以接班的工人不得不在你说话时重建你的叙述。固定顺序把交接班变成一份你在清晨五点仍然能执行的清单，也让漏掉的项目变得听得出来：如果你从不说风险这一行，对方能听出缺口。风险这一行是带有安全后果的那一行。漏掉 nobody starts the line，下一班就会启动一台防护罩松动的机器。这就是为什么第四行绝不能并入第二行。
四段可以逐字照说的交接班
短句，一句一个事实，不用习语。改变数字、时间和名字，并保持五行顺序不变。
话术 1：没做完的托盘清点
State: the pick line is finished. The dock is still open.No faults. The scanner in aisle six is slow.Unfinished: order 881 is wrapped. Two pallets are on the dock.Risk: the dock ramp is wet. Tell the driver to go slow.Next: load the last two pallets before 07:30.
接下来有两个问题：Which order are those pallets for? 和 Is the paperwork with them?
话术 2：传送带故障
State: line four is stopped. Line three is running.Fault: the motor is hot and smells burnt. Ticket 4412.Unfinished: forty boxes are on the line. Quality has not checked them.Risk: the guard is loose. Nobody starts the line until maintenance signs it off.Next: call maintenance at 07:00 and ask for the motor first.
接下来有两个问题：Is the line locked out? 和 Who did you call, and when?
话术 3：发药巡视
State: fourteen residents on the night list. Twelve have had their medication.No faults. The blood pressure machine is charging.Unfinished: Mr Ahmed's 06:00 medication is not given. Wake him at 06:30.Risk: Mrs Lee refused her pain relief at 03:00 and is still in pain. Check her before breakfast.Next: the nurse in charge reviews Mrs Lee at 06:15.

话术 4：厨房库存
State: the hot line is closed. The cold room is at four degrees.Fault: the left oven is not heating. The engineer comes at 10:00.Unfinished: the soup is made but not labelled. Two boxes of tomatoes are not checked in.Risk: the fridge door does not close by itself. Push it until it clicks.Next: label the soup before 07:00 and put the tomatoes in the cold room.
接下来有两个问题：Which soup is it, and what date goes on the label? 和 Did the driver sign for the tomatoes?
报告故障或险情，并请别人重复
故障报告需要五个事实，而且都不需要长词：什么、哪里、何时、我做了什么、我需要什么。
Line four stopped at 04:10. The motor is hot. I switched it off and put a ticket on it. I need an electrician before we start.
险情也需要同样的诚实：发生了什么、谁离得近、什么阻止了它、应该改变什么。绝不要说 nothing happened，因为报告存在的目的就是修复原因。
At 03:40 a pallet fell by the dock door. Nobody was hurt. The strap was loose. We need new straps.
当词句想不起来时，四个短语承担大部分工作：
Sorry, could you say that again more slowly?Can you spell that for me?Do you mean the red valve or the blue valve?I did not catch the last word.
加一句开场：My English is still improving. Please speak slowly. 绝不要为了避免问第二次而猜数字、零件号或剂量。第二个问题只花十秒钟。
确认你听懂了：复述确认和两词检查
复述确认是接班工人的工作，需要十五秒。重复五行内容，并邀请对方纠正。
So line four is stopped, the motor is hot, and nobody starts it until maintenance signs it off. Is that right?
美国医疗保健研究与质量局在其面向临床团队的 SBAR 工具中教的是同一个动作：在给出建议之后，把对方的回答复述回来，是为了核对准确性，而不是为了客气。点头不是复述确认，在嘈杂走廊里的 yes, yes 也不是。
两词检查为交接班收尾。只要求对方用两个词回答：Clear or not clear? 如果回答是不清楚，就问哪一行不清楚，并留下来直到清楚为止。然后单独检查风险行：Just the risk line: what will you not do?
书面交接班：用简短英语写倒班日志
每行一件事，始终包含同样的四部分：时间、发生了什么、你做了什么、下一步是什么。动词放前面，不用长句，每天晚上同一件事用同一个词，所以选 line 或 machine，并一直用下去。
04:10 line 4 stopped. Motor hot. Switched off. Ticket 4412.04:15 maintenance called. Electrician after 07:00.05:40 guard on line 4 loose. Line locked out.
数字写成阿拉伯数字，零件号和剂量要从标签或记录上抄，而不是凭记忆写。碰任何东西之前先读日志，遇到读不懂的行就问写日志的人。健康与安全执行局建议交接班同时使用口头和书面两种方式，而一份朴素的日志就是书面那一半。
绝不能改述的安全指令
有些句子不该由你来改进。Lock out, tag out、do not operate、permit to work、isolated 和 signed off 都是指令，标签、许可证或标牌上的原词就是指令。不要把它们翻译成你自己的话，也不要弱化它们。保留固定短语，并在后面加上你自己的句子：Line four is locked out. The key is with the supervisor.
绝不要回答你没有核对过的安全问题。I have not checked that. I will ask the supervisor. 是一个完整答案，而且是正确的答案。如果安全指令不清楚，开始前就停下来问，而不是开始后再问。
如何在没有额外学习时间的情况下快速学习职场英语
你不需要课程，也不需要空出一个晚上。你需要一个会重复的任务，而你已经有一个：每个班次结束时的交接班。每周十五分钟就能让五行保持随时可用，而且就在更衣室里进行。
- 第 0 到 5 分钟：拿一张卡片，用昨晚的数字把五行大声读两遍。
- 第 5 到 10 分钟：搭档从卡片上读三个虚构事实，你不看卡片把它们交接出去。
- 第 10 到 15 分钟：搭档把五行复述回来，你标出漏掉的那一行，然后只把那行再说一遍。
这三个事实可以很简单：Order 881, two pallets left. Motor hot, ticket 4412. Guard loose, do not start. 重点不是事实，重点是有人在等的时候按顺序把它们说出来。漏掉一周就跳过，不要补做双倍。
quickly 诚实地意味着什么：一个任务大约经过四次每周演练就会有进步，因为句子不再被翻译，而是开始被记住。一整门语言需要更长时间，任何承诺几周内流利的人，卖的都是别的东西。
常见问题
如果我的英语还很基础，怎么练习倒班交接？
只从五个开头开始，不要一开始就练整段交接。把 The state、The fault、Unfinished、The risk 和 Next 大声说五遍，然后给每个开头加一个事实。那已经是一段用短句组成的完整交接班了。
当我听不懂上一班的记录时该说什么？
先说你听懂的部分，再针对其余内容问一个具体问题：I cannot read this line. Is it 40 boxes or 14? 然后把记录读回给写记录的人或主管听。如果找不到人，就把不清楚的那一行当作未确认，不要启动设备。
